About Our Grapevine Acupuncturist

Sunny Han, O.M. (NCCAOM)
I was born in South Korea. I grew up in a family where healers go back at least 5 generations. You could say that helping others runs in the family! After I finished my basic educational program (high school) in South Korea, I wanted to travel and experience the world. I was curious and interested as to how other places were different from South Korea and how we are the same. In order to learn more about western culture, I came to the United States.
I learned so much and I felt like it would benefit me to continue my education in the United States, so I applied and was accepted to Ohio State for my undergraduate. My major was pre-med with an emphasis in biology. While at Ohio State, I studied the western medicine techniques. During my senior year of my undergraduate period, I start thinking about more natural based pathways to promote healing in the body. I wondered how I could help the body heal without any side effect found with pharma logical medicine. I wanted to be able to apply some of the more traditional healing methods I was familiar with from South Korea. I found that in Boston, MA, they have a great acupuncture school, New England school of Acupuncture (NESA). So, I applied and accepted to this prestigious school and completed my master’s in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. After completing my master’s degree and several internship programs like working in the Herbs clinic at Harvard University where we treated patients who were undertaking chemotherapy, I was amazed at how the patients responded to such beneficial treatments as acupuncture and herbal supplement treatment.
I moved to the Dallas/Ft Worth area 5 years ago and since that time, I have continued to make a difference in others’ lives using natural healing techniques.
